Everyone who can get out of Central America or Mexico gets out. The societies are poor, criminal prone, and utter disasters.

The notion that Spanish or Portuguese colonialists created so sort of utopia is absurd. Some people post as they type that wonderful white powder of an export from Colombia.

If everyone who can get out of a nation gets out, that letīs you know what people really think of the society.

Ask those Natives who are fleeing those countries for the US, trying to get in under the Trump administration of all people.

The more difficult ones to Christianized were the Northern Scandinavian countries, which by the way, they only became Christians less than 300 years prior to the American Indigenous people.

Exactly...let naners1 tell it, the Portuguese and Spanish landed on shores and with the utmost civility courted the native women and the Africans whom were brought over and intermarried to create said Utopia. No enslavement, subjigation or indoctrination required....

Empires are born and later they die and new one appear. That's what happened to the Romans, Egyptians, Spanish and many more. The Mayan empire by the year 700 was very advanced in astronomy, built some of the largest cities in the world, had an extremely advanced agriculture system and it had also developed a writing method, then it collapsed. While at that same period of time the Germans and their cousins up in northern Europe, were still living as illiterate nomadic tribes. One thousand years later the tables are turned.

The legacy of Spanish colonialism is crime ridden, corrupt countries with major issues of inequality. It had to do with the brutality of Spanish colonialism and the Inquisition. And yes the legacy of slavery.

You mean to say that the indian women didn’t prefer the Spanish men, who looked and sounded different from what they seen their whole lives? The indian men also controlled their women and used them as favors to welcome the men in each town. For example, even today a black man can visit the non-tourist regions of Mexico and based that they look and sound different than all or most of the men they have seen, most black men have a much better attention from the women than they do back home. They also gained the military, economic, and political power which added to their allure, like women do to men women today. If that’s the case today, imagine what it was like 500 years from now. We even have several stories (for example, the Malinche in Mexico) through out the region.

On the other hand, the Philippines was a Spanish colony also for 500 years or so, but they hardly have any Spanish mixed. In fact, most of the population is of East Asian stock. Its what Latin America would had been like if most crosses were due to raped, indoctrination, and stuff. The fact that Latin America isn’t like the Philippines, despite having been a colony of Spain for also over 500 years, is a tale tell signs that the women reacted differently.

You can also see the former English and French colonies in the Americas or the world. Most are mostly not majority mixed, despite the same rapes and stuff happen in those places too. Jamaica was an increasingly mixed society, then the English took over and changed everything.

I know its not what you want to hear, but I’m based off reality rather than make believe. This is only talking about the Spanish men, but there were indian and other men that also remained powerful during the Spanish era and they too had the Latin American women at their feet.

Dude, you are not painting a good picture of Spaniards or Latin. Number one, Native women can speak for themselves.

You as a white man have no right to speak for conquered and oppressed people.

Now go back to sniffing your favorite powder which is unhinging you.

This is the official result of the pre 2010 census (2000 census): Depicts the "old" way of thinking that Brasileiros had. It should be noted that not all Brazilians would choose one of the 25 or so options when queried. I pulled the Engish version for you all.

The dichotomy can be attributed to what some may deem as becoming "woke", or what my friends here in Rio simply refer to is embracing their roots openly and freely. Either way, the 10 year shift in psychology is truly something to be marveled. I say this because simply there is no, or rather at the time of the 2010 census, was no tangible socioeconomic advantage to openly embracing "preto" over cafuso, pardo, etc.

And to bring it back to the original narrative of this thread as it pertained to the sytemic erasure of African Descendants in Latin America, this change in psychology and embracement of ones heritage actually attempts to combat it.
But I think Brazilian really became more mixed in average than before only recently. Mixing what happened a lot in 80's and 90's decades. Explaning in countryside Brazil there are huge areas where most people are only Whites and others mostly blacks, or pardos or amerindians... How people migrated in mass to big cities like S„o Paulo, Brasilia, Belo horizonte and Rio de Janeiro from all over the country only recently in these 2 decades, the mixing of races happened a lot in these parts of Brazil really recently.

You mean to give credence to, for example, the ones that claimed for over a century that the Spaniards were lying about the mass sacrifices they saw of multiple indian societies. For the longest time it was held even in academia that they were grotosque descriptions that the Spaniards used to subjugate the native people.

It has only been recently that archeological evidences were found in various indian civilizations that not only did they practices sacrifices, but many practiced mass killings in the name of the sun god or the moon god. That was reality. For hundreds of years it was thought that the Spanish were lying about the sacrifices and only in recent times has it been discovered that its all a lie. It turns out the Spanish were talking the truth. Most of the people in the Americas that were alive at the time of the conquest knew the mass sacrifices were real and most of the people in recent times also know the mass sacrifices were real, but imagine how many generations thought they weren't real and were hullicinations of the Spaniards.

The biggest proponents of that lie were many of the indigenous groups. They believed it was a lie of the Spanish. Imagine that... We now know even the Maya were violent by their own accord in some pyramids that were found in Guatemala. For hundreds of years it was believed that the Maya were a peaceful people and, again, the Spanish were lying. A few years ago everything changed and suddenly the Spaniards doesn't look like the liars after all. It turns out the people that were lying were some groups of the Maya all along.

Who would have thought that and yet, this is real. Its only one topic, but there are plenty of topics that in recent times have been shown that the Spanish were not the liars after all. The evidences is there for anyone open to reality. The evidences is archeological and in flesh and blood. They are there all along.

This is not to say that abuses didn't occur, but some people definitely blow them out of proportion. Imagine yourself being witness to a mass killing. I think you will go crazy by being in a society where this is seen as normal and would want to change it.
