I will be doing a Spanish teacher training course in Montevideo for 3 weeks this July. Has anyone traveled to Uruguay? How does it compare to Argentina and Spain? I know the Spanish spoken there is far different than that spoken in Mexico, Central America, or Spain. I understand there is not that much to do but is one of the more prosperous and safer countries in South America.

It would most likely be the country that I'd do a Spanish course in, that or Colombia. Personally, I really enjoyed Montevideo, Mellow, enough quirkiness, night life, safety, ease to get around, and very easy to get to Argentina, to make it thoroughly worth it. Good beaches to top it.
