Hi everybody, I am putting out feelers for a possible music tour in the West Indies which is better IMO than going to Europe which is expensive af.

I am wondering what kind of music venues are appropriate for a rock band to go to countries such as Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago. I am not talking about some Fyre festival shtick but playing to local fan bases. The music of this band is in the vein of DragonForce, Ratt, and Winger with lyrics inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov and Ayn Rand.

I am also curious about touring in Haiti and the Dominican Republic but only one of the band members speaks Spanish and none of them speak French. Is this a bad idea? What should the budget be for this plan. Is it possible to ship instruments via one of those cargo boats that is linked to Western Union or is this a stupid move.

There is limited demand for rock in most parts of the Caribbean. Its fan base is confined to some of the elites.

That sucks. I guess I will have to tour in Latin America proper.

Try Brazil. All the attributes of the Caribbean but with a much bigger rock base. You wouldn't be just limited to the rich kids or tourists/expats. Or you can do PR and maybe Dom Rep.
