This week is Santo Domingo’s Feria del Libro (Books Fair) on calle Las Damas (the first urban street built by the Spanish in the New World). This year the invited of honor is Puerto Rico, which sent a delegation to Santo Domingo this whole week. Some of the invited authors are from the DR, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, and some islands of the Caribbean.

This week Bogotá, Colombia is having a book fair too. I didn’t know about this, otherwise I would had included in the first post. It coincides with Colombia’s 200 year independence anniversary. It will be from April 24 to May 6. Colombia is the invited country for obvious reasons.

This is also good for people that will be in Bogotá during that time and want to practice their Spanish.
