We're heading to Argentina in November. Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Bariloche, and Mendoza. A few nights in each place.

Anybody been down there? Any tips?

Been there maybe five times and keep trying very hard to like it, but just can't. Ordinary Argentinians are just fine (as long as they are not vacationing in Chile), but the gamut of customer service Argentines you have to run (waiters, clerks, etc) will try your patience.

Mendoza is one of the most perfect cities in the world. Iguassu has vewspoints in three countries, and visa issues may impede your enjoyment.

Have you been to Ushuaia by any chance? I've long been interested by it, but I can't quite place what it is.

No, only as far south as San Martin delos Andes. In Chile, only down to Chloe.

There's a number of cities north of Mendoza that are worth visiting as well. I made 2 trips to Argentina in 2007 and 2009 and both times I did a pass on Buenos Aires. I prefer mid-sized cities the best.
