Ecuador compared to other Latin American countries (best, cost, country)

We plan on going to Ecuador for 2 week holiday in April. How does Ecuador compare to Costa Rica in terms of tourist infrastructure. I have traveled through most of Mexico and Central America and also visited the southern cone countries in SA (Chile, Uruguay, Argentina)

Ecuador has a great road network, among the best in the region, way better than Costa Rica, Uruguay, Argentina and Central America that's for sure. You'll do just fine.

It´s true, the infrastructure there is top-notch.

I would also advise that you don´t just settle for spending all your time in Quito. Sure, it´s a great city and all, but Cuenca, Loja, Salinas, Montañita and Guayaquil all deserve your time and money. Get out and see the country!
