Just keep in mind that when reading statistics on Latin american countries, they like to inflate thier % of white people and deflate the % of black people. This is obvious by visiting those countries. Having been to Puerto rico before, Brazil and Colombia...Its very obvious. Columbia statistically is 20% white but in reality is closer to 5% from what I seen. The black population is high and is definately not 4%. The mulatto % can be added to the black % since in L.America, if your not 100% African descended then you are Mulatto, even if you are 90% black.
Brazil is the biggest culprit for doing this, thier statistics show the black population at 6%, and the mulatto population @ 43%. In reality the black population is the majority, with a sizable 'true' mulatto population there. The white population is no more than 20%.
This shouldnt be a big deal, but it is if you consider that the reasons thier statistics are fudged is due to racism. Apparently having a large black population is seen as a negative but a white one is seen as a good thing. So they find no harm in lying about the true numbers.

What the hell are you talking about? This is totally false.

Yeah I agree with you xodox, whites are the largest minority group in colombia and the biggest ethnic group in brazil. they might not all be pure white but their predominately white that goes for the majority of puerto rico too, I've been there a few times.
I'd go by the cia world factbook before anybody's opinion.
Brazil and its almost 200 million population is no longer a country of white majority. The credit now belongs to the 49.6% black population compared to the 49.4% defined as white and this is set to increase in coming years with that percentage increasing to 54, according to a recent report from the Rio do Janeiro Federal University."
Professor Antonio Paixao from the Rio University’s Economy Institute believes that since Brazil is no longer a white majority country, “we need a policy of diversity”, which is a great challenge for the political establishment.
The black birth rate is also higher than that of the whites or Europeans descendents, so the big question is whether Brazil is prepared to face the fact that blacks and mulattos are becoming a solid majority, and how this will influence legislation, asks Paixao.
But current reality shows another picture, with a considerable degree of discrimination for the blacks: the basic food basket for a black person demands 76 hours of work compared to the average 54 hours for a white person"
Thats a pretty huge leap going from nearly 100million Afro-Brazilians to "officially" 12million Afro-Brazilans. But yea, theres nothing to be seen here. Move along everybody, right?

Yeah, time to move along. Not the question and spreading false information isn't nice.
