BBC News - Argentina: Strike paralyses Buenos Aires and other cities
Quote:
A strike called by two of Argentina's biggest unions has paralysed much of Buenos Aires and other cities.
Most trains and underground lines remained closed, flights were cancelled and there was little traffic in the streets of the capital.
This is the second big protest against the government of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner in less than two weeks.

From this report and others that i've read Kirchner is playing them down and saying the disruption was minimal. Do you think that the people of Buenos Aires and the greater majority are convinced by her words and do you believe that this may be the start of more strikes/disruption.

Sorry to pin you down to answering these and obviously you don't have to answer them it's just that from reading your past posts you do seem to give a balanced and unbiased opinion of South American issues and stories.

I was visiting Argentina, Spring of 2008, when they had the farmer's road blockades all over the country and I enjoyed every minute of it, knowing full-well, this would never be permitted in the U.S.! I was happily inconvenienced by it!

I wouldn't hesitate for one minute to fly down there and be inconvienced by strikes all over again!

May their voices be heard!!!

I had a strike happen while is in in COsta Rica some years ago.... I agree... I tink it's beautiful to see the people of any place Unite ...

Media and a system are in place in the US to keep 'the people' very disorganized and disrupted, leaving things to happen .... such as what's going on today...
