I like New Sagaya's Midtown. Take out I like Big Boy's on the corner of 36th and Spenard.

We go occasionally to the Peking Palace. The food is hot and fresh and it beats Carrs. They seem to be consistent (a rare quality for Chinese food places up here) and I haven't feared food poisoning eating there yet.

It's a shame we don't have better Chinese restaurants but those that show early promise tend to fall apart at the seams within a year and either close or become just another bad Chinese place.

At least with Big Boy's you can watch the guy cook your food. But the quality seems to be hit or miss. Some days its actually really good, while others its been below average. Maybe it depends on how much the guy had to drink the night before?

Yep, like I've said before, pretty much the best Chinese food in Alaska I've found to date.

Who would'a thought North Pole and Chinese food?...

I've never had spicy Thai, usually they let you pick the heat level. Of course I always order the same thing. I have to admit I never had Thai in Anchorage. I learned how to make my favorite dish at home.

Yea, there was one that moved into the old Mongolian BBQ place by the City Diner on Minn and Benson. As you put it, "they showed promise" but only lasted a couple months and disappeared. Now the signs are up saying Pete's Sushi Spot is opening back up there. Hopefully it will be as good as the old one. They need to do some serious renovation to the inside though.

After seeing Fudo's on the commercials, I went there a few years back and wasn't too impressed.

Ok a few good suggestions then. I'll try some more out. I like real Alaskan food.. moose, blue berries... but you know. I enjoy having other cultures as well.

Yes, about the only thing you get a "fix" of at the Chinese buffet at Carrs is a good dose of E.Coli
