Hi,
My son has been expressing big interest in soccer, however, when I tried to look for some camps/classes last summer, the only ones I saw did NOT have enrollment for his birth year anymore (2002), only for younger kids.
Is that the only way how it works? Or there might be some exceptions, like what to do when some kids move - somebody HAS to take their place, right? Besides, at that age they can't be that advanced yet, anyway, so I can't imagine it not being possible to catch up (for a kid joining later, with big desire)!

Or, maybe, those were too "prefessional", team-like settings, whereas we'd just been plenty happy with entertainment, "camp-like" or "clinic-like" class for a few weeks, or even one week! Does anybody know anything about something like that?

Or, what are your arrangements for kids fo summer, anyway? Any interesting ideas? What about all-day 9-5 camps - those are hard to come by, and expensive - have you seen any that are more affordable?

OK, since nobody had anything to say, I will share my own findings (don't know why I had such a hard time before - now had rather hard time picking! ):

First of all, Anchorage Youth Soccer Club and its Summer Super Soccer Academy, Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-12pm, from June 7th to July 28th. $175 for the whole time - sounds like a deal!
They also have a regular team which might be all full by now, but depends on the ages. This one is $300 per session, which runs through whole summer:

Then, Rush Soccer - also has regular teams (both recreational and competitive) and summer camp - called SoccerMania. The latter takes place on July 11 - 15 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm at JADE Park, cost is $50. Camp head coach is Jason Leonardis.

(I 've seen two more, but can't find them right now... certainly will add more later if there is any interest)
