I would like to see if anyone has accomplished this feat. It would appear to be quite an accomplishment.

I'd be surprised if any regular posters have been up Denali. I've done quite a bit of alpine climbing in the past, and had Denali in mind when I moved up here. Somehow however, 6 months of snow and sub-freezing temperatures kills my motivation to go hang out on glaciers in summer... My ambitions now are more towards long off-trail traverses, packrafting trips and whatnot. It's also rather difficult for most of us to take 3-4 weeks off work during the season when Denali is reasonable to climb. Most big-mountain climbs are done by out-of-staters.

I guess it would by my standards. The closest mountains to where I live is 90 minutes north in the Ozarks. I live in the southernmost extension of their foot hills and we have some hills as tall as 30 feet! (I know 30 is much, so I'm being sarcastic. I've visited mountains before and loved them, though.)

I saw the thread title just entering CD now... I have not even been to Ak, but have met guys training for the Ak mountains in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

These are small mountains by any standards, but the winter weather is wild. Mt Washington is 6,288 feet and the 2nd highest on the eastern seaboard.

I only have 2 pics in my photobucket so I will post both.

I am the old geezer,

The summit of Mt Jefferson

Speaking of Mt "McKinley," I don't understand why Ohioans care so much about what it's named. He was a US president, guys. It's not like he's going to be forgotten by history if the mountain gets officially named what it's actually called
