Default Moving from Orange County California

I have found a local shipping company for our household items, but can't seem to find a local company to ship the car, only ones out of Seattle. I'd rather not drive up there just to ship it
The obvious solution is to drive the Alcan, but our move may be in the middle of January, we would prefer not drive it then, especially since my husband has never driving in more than a couple inches of snow.

Any ideas? Links? Know of any companies?

I don't remember the name of the company @ the moment. But, if you still coundn't find any. I'll find out from my friend. She shipped her car from Anchorage to Las Vegas in August, 07. It cost her 2,500 and took about 2 weeks. I'll call her and let you know if you still looking for one.

Try one of the freight companies, like Lynden, Pacific Alaska Forwarders. ABF.

Check other threads, as we have lots of disscusions on this topic, search for Kodiak, as they need to do this all the time.

Thank you for your help. I've found the best way.... (economically) for us to get up there, Drive. I was going to delete this thread but couldn't figure out how to do it.
It is going to end up costing about $8500 to make the move.
I'm posting the cost to help out anyone else wanting to make this trip.

We're coming from Southern California, can't wait to get out

ABF's relo-cube $1984 +/-
gas $375 +/-
motels & food for the trip $1480 (we have some family alone the way we'll stay with to help save there)
boxes $214
first months rent & security deposit $2400 + $400 for utilities set-up

Plus an additional 25% of our moving cost to help cover any unexpected cost.

We could do the trip for $7000, by hauling a 4x8 trailier from Uhual instead of using the relo-cube, (double the cost of gas), but we would have to leave all our furniture behind. We don't have a lot of nice things but we would like to take our matress and dresser, replacing them would cost more than the price of the relo-cube.
