Anchorage: one big sausage-fest?

Either the women here find you desirable or they don't and if they don't and you have already moved here your kinda up the creek. That's why I suggest maybe visiting up here first or going online and pretending you already live here.

If the women like what your selling then more power to you but if they don't it can be expensive to try to change jobs and move again to get out, this is the last place you want to be stuck single if the women don't like you, and there is more to it than not being a jerk.

If your gig as a gigolo ain't workin' out maybe you need to lower your price. If your goods aren't that good no woman is gonna pay your asking price. Ima thinking you'd be better off just stayin' single. Or try out that sausage fest that Elder18 was wantin' to get hooked up with.

I have studied sex ratios for decades. 20+ years ago Alaska had the highest male ratio. I don't think that was especially true in Anchorage but it got the reputation, probably because it's the best known city in the state.

Currently the town with the highest male sex ratio is the oil boom town of Williston North Dakota. Many of the workers live in "man camps". Women are scarce there.

In general the Western U.S has (and always had) the highest ratio of males. Both the rural areas and major cities. I guess many took the advise to "go West young man". The high tech San Jose/Silicon Valley area has so many extra dudes it's nicknamed "Man Jose". Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Seattle, and Denver all have high male ratios...I believe all higher than Anchorage. Also more rural states like Wyoming. I believe the lack of females is one of the most underappreciated reasons so many Western states have high suicide rates.

That's interesting, I would have never guessed large western cities like Los Angeles could have an unbalanced male / female ratio. With a huge population and enough time I would expect it to have even'ed out by now. Any insights into how the disparity has been maintained?
