Planning on somewhere on the outskirts of Anchorage. Preferably somewhere that's warmer in the summer don't mind how harsh the winters get. My husband is a professional cook has 12 year experience in cooking for high end faced paced restaurants and a lot of management experience. Can some one suggest any areas that would be good to look into? The only other place we were really looking into was Fairbanks but I hear it's more expensive to live there is this true?

Thanks!

Fairbanks is more expensive than Anchorage. The "outskirts" of Anchorage would be Eagle River or the Valley.
I personally would NOT recommend anyone move to Alaska without first visiting and having jobs lined up. Moving here is expensive, living here is expensive and getting out of here is expensive when things don't work out. I hope you have plenty of cash saved up...

I'm not sure there a big demand for a high end fast paced restaurant chefs, in and around Anchorage. Have you lined up a job yet?

And that's the biggest key... Is the job lined up and secured?

I'm planning on moving south in the spring and looking for someone to maybe go splitzy on the Uhaul... Something you'd be interested in? Definitely go to Anchorage in regard to any culture and good food. It's a little city, with JUST ENOUGH culture to survive...
