Hello! We will be moving to Anchorage soon from Mississippi. I do not know much about the elementary schools there, except that I have heard from several people that the South Anchorage schools are very desirable. I have 5 small children, so the schools are very important to us, and we prefer public schools to private. We are looking at renting a home first, until we learn more about the area. I am wondering if anybody here can tell me anything positive or negative about Abbott Loop elementary? Any input about schools would be very helpful! Thank you in advance for your help!

My kids went to Mears and are now in Dimond HS, but I have heard Abbott Loop is really good. It's located a little ways down from the office where I work.

South Anchorage, Service HS and Dimond HS are the areas to look in if you are interested in the schools on this side of town.

Abbott Loop Elementary -- Anchorage School District
You can look at Abbott Loop's school report card & website by going on asd.k12.org & clicking on elementary schools if the above link does not work. I am a teacher with ASD & have heard very good things about Abbott Loop. In fact, one of my friends just got a job there & has said the staff is so supportive & awesome. Especially since you are renting first, I don't think you can go wrong. Once you get to town you may eventually want to buy & it's good to get to know neighborhoods before buying. Enjoy our Town! |
