Yes indeed! I bought three complete sets of winter tires through Amazon and they all shipped UPS 2nd Day Air for free! It would have cost me over $200 shipping per set through Tire Rack.

Yeah, I never realized amazon prime sold tires until recently. I wonder how much money amazon loses on it's Alaska prime members... I know I probably use at least $1000+ Worth of free shipping a year from them.

No problems whatsoever on my wife's Rav4 V6, nor on a Toyota Corolla. I do keep the tires properly inflated, so maybe that makes a difference. While I haven't installed the set of Blizzak tires/wheels on my wife's Rav 4, I installed a set of them last week on the Corolla I drive to work (we had several inches of snow on the roads). But it has been bone-dry for a few days now, and I like their handling performance even more than the all season tires. They do wear sooner if you drive long distances and not very cold outside.

I do almost exclusively mail order and diy because otherwise it wont get done in my experience.

How long ago? My understanding is Johnsons upset Nokian and Nokian no longer sells to them as of last year. You must have got them before last winter. Also it was specificly the 255/70 R18's could not be found in the entire state last fall for the Nokian hakkaplida 8's. I had to order on tires by web with free shipping to Washington and then pay 100$ in shipping to alaska.

If you have large truck tires the next time you have to replace them its going to be a fiasco unless nokian finds a new vendor up here. Johnsons really screwed the pooch messing up the contract with Nokian, thats what brought alot of people through the door. Even if they were being pressured to sell them at cost those tires were a huge draw.

Nope, they dont have the large truck nokian hak 8s for F150, etc. You must drive an SUV or car, they are easy to find for those.

Hmmm. I wonder if some one like Tire Rack could ship them to you?

Plenty of side by side comparison videos on YouTube, watch a few of them then decide what type of tire you want to be driving you and your family around on..
