Default Hotel Recommendations Needed

For our last night in Alaska, on our upcoming trip in August, I want to stay in Anchorage. Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice spendy hotel with a view of the inlet or the mountains?

Hell I don't know. The last time I stayed in Anchorage I had to find a place I could have my dog with me and I can't remember the name of the place.

Well Personally, though its been a while. I like the Captain Cook. Better atmosphere and service than the Hilton. Downtown with parking next door. Make sure you ask for the kind of room you want. They have a pool also on a upper floor, though have not seen it. Food in the resturants was good, and the cafe downstairs was resasonable too.

Thanks Arctic! I looked at the Captain last night & it looks like a very nice hotel. Did you stay in a regular room or on the club level?

I was there for a seminar a few years ago so a regular room. Not much of a view as I remember, just needed a place to sleep. Didn't spend much time in the room.

Last time I went to town I had a few free nights at the Sheraton, a very nice hotel right on the edge of downtown. Good views of the city, too.

Captain Cook. Ask for a room with a view out to the inlet. Personally, when I go to Anchorage and spend the night in the summer, I sleep in the back of my truck. Who can afford that stuff!!!

My wife isn't going to give me any sex if we spend the night in the rental. Come to think of it I probably won't get any in the room either. So... I'm hoping that the views will compensate for that.
