Where do I get info for road closures. Is it a good highway. Is it open year round?
What route do you recommend? I am leaving from Edmonton Alberta. Should I take the Alaska highway north from Grand Prairie? Go North from Prince George. or go North at Kitwanga, BC on # 37. |

The Alaska Highway starts at Dawson Creek. From Edmonton take Highway 16 and then head up to 43 up to Grand Prairie and over to Dawson Creek. It turns into Highway 97 or the Alaska Highway. No need to go over to Prince George. Buy yourself The Milepost and you can follow the map in there.
