After hundreds of hours online researching the Kenai Peninsula, now some questions for the locals. I am considering moving to Soldotna, Sterling, Cooper’s Landing, Kenai, Homer or Seward (or any other town recommended by posters that meets the below criteria) (perhaps Girdwood or Cordova).

1. What youth hockey association(s)/ice rink location(s) have the most opportunity for a PeeWee (11-12 year old) to play at a high level? What elementary and junior/high schools have middle school/JV/Varsity ice hockey?

2. If elementary school is attended via bricks and mortar, which school(s) should be considered on the Peninsula? Girdwood?

3. Does the Kenai school district offer an intense language offering similar to the Anchorage district?

4. Does anyone utilize 100% Cyber School, homeschooling or hybrid online/bricks and mortar? Your experience?

5. What area(s) of the Peninsula is/are most advantageous for a novice gold seeker who aspires to become very efficient? Along the Kenai or Russian Rivers?

6. What area has the most concentrated seasonal/year-round tourism job opportunities? Finance/accounting jobs, no matter the industry?

7. What tourism destination(s)/companies offer employee year-round or seasonal living arrangements on/near site? Cost?

8. Why does Seward seem to have a lower average yearly income that most other towns?

9. Name your favorite town on the Peninsula and/or elsewhere in Alaska to live. Why?

10. Within all of Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula, what area has the mildest temperatures?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and answer.

Yes, it was to close to Anchorage so we pushed it across the Turnagin Arm next to Hope.

Back to OP's criteria. I seriously think your best bet is to look at Anchorage. Especially for the schooling stuff.

The Matanuska Valley would fit a lot of your criteria, except the mildest temperatures. For mild temperatures, maybe look at Southeast? Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan?

The mildest temperatures are in southern SE. but that doesn't equate to "better weather" in most people's minds.
