Default What is the Driving time from Edmonton to Anchorage

Hi, My Employer wants me in Anchorage buy the end of next week. How many days do I need to plan for driving from Edmonton to Anchorage. One option is driving the highway, the other option is to take a ferry from Prince rupert to Haines. How many hours driving from Haines to Anchorage.

Please give me your best answers ASAP.

Three days tops. From Baker Montana it took us a day to get to Edmonton. Three days to Fairbanks pretty much driving all day and staying at hotels at night. We stayed at a little place outside of Edmonton called Onoway, nice little hotel, I'd stay there again. Give yourself about 5 days total for road conditions. Keep up on the conditions at:

Just drive up, it's great. The ferry is out of the way, you'd actually have to drive a bit further for that part of it and its on the ocean, might be a lot of snow that way. Take the Alaska Highway through Dawson Creek.

Drive BC

Try not to do the drive from Fort Nelson to Watson Lake at night time. There is lots of animals running around in the mountains at night. If you do drive at night, be careful and be on the look out for Buffalo on the highway, hitting one of these would be like hitting a wall, but the wall moves.

Default Thanks for the info

How difficult is it to find an apartment. I am assuming it pretty easy due to all the postings on Craigslist. I am planning on spending a few days in a hotel when I get to Anchorage then moving in to a place. But being the end of the Month, it might be tough.

Warptman sure gets around a lot for someone who lives in a town that has no roads in or out.

You have to take one big trip a year or you'd go crazy here. This summer I have two big trips in May. Europe for three weeks and a drive to Minnesota and back right after that. Should be a fun summer.
