Yes, I wanted to come teach in Alaska in my early 20s. That's how I got started in ham radio because I was told it would be an essential skill. I never made it -- got a job in Central Michigan -- but I always wonder if I could've made a positive impact. It certainly would've been the adventure of a lifetime!

. It does get slightly breezy here at times. I don't get the wind as bad as in town does in the summer time though due to the granites blocking it. In winter time it's like an arctic hurricane out here at times though.
