Upscale Clubs
Hi everyone, I might be moving to Anchorage here soon and have been doing some research about the city. It seems like a beautiful place to live. Also, Anchorage seem to do well with nice restaurants but I could really find any upscale clubs...a place you might dress up and go out to for dancing. The general vibe seems to be party rock and roll or ladies night wanabe up scale clubs...could find a venue that looked to be professional all around with a nice website or anything like that.
I not really looking to party with 21,22 year olds, more like 25 to 35 ish professionals. I like hip-hop but also a bit of house is good. Any upscale clubs with good dance floors that cater to this market? What are the best clubs in Anchorage outside of koots, which doesnt really seem like my place?
Thanks

I'm not much of a bar person. I just pulled these out of the Anch phone book. Not much in there under nightclubs really.

The thing is you nailed it when you said wanna be up scale night clubs. That's all Anc has. There really are no up scal clubs. There are a lot of hip hop clubs, but they are far from up scale.
Rum Runners on certain nights can be ok for a little more up scale than others.
Otherwise it's hip hop all over, but not in a fancy way.

I think it's just time to throw on your frontier (relative to the lesser 48) and hang in Rome....if you get my drift.

"Dressing up" in Alaska means putting on a clean pair of Carhartts.

Hmmm...
Sounds like Anchorage needs a bit of a overhaul with the club scene. Anyway, thanks for the responses, much appreciated.

Nah, there are some nicer clubs here. The two that my friends and I hit are Platinum Jack's and The Anchor. Both of them are located in down town. I don't know if you would consider them "upscale", but they draw in the less trashy people. I hope this helps.
