Free if you don't count the price of the boat, trailer, gas, crab pots, line, floats and fishing license.

Otherwise you can get it for $12.99/lb. at Costco

Default Seattle

Unfortunately, the vast majority of king crab is already spoken for even before it hits the docks, and goes by air straight to Seattle. Even the big fish places in ANC have to get their crab from there, so ironically it actually takes longer go get it in most of Alaska than it does in Seattle. You'll sometimes see a guy selling "fresh king crab" from a pickup on the street corner from time to time, but I wonder just how fresh it is and where he really gets it. Around Juneau crabbers sometimes get a king or two in their pots when going for dungeness, but from what I've heard they have to throw it back. I've never heard of anyone near where I live in Haines ever finding anything other than dungeness in their pots, but I haven't been here that long.

If you happen to know one of the deck hands (like I do), you can get it very fresh in a 20lbs box...for 10 bucks a pound. The legs are the size of my arm.

Sometimes there will be a sign on the road advertising fresh whole king crab at the harbor. I've heard that prices range from $20-30 per crab and $10/lb. i've never bought from a F/V since I get mine for "free" when my pots haven't been poached.
