We are deciding between Anchorage, Alaska and Prescott, Arizona for our new home.
The job offers in both places are equally great, stable, long-term, middle class positions. We would welcome comments on raising girls, in both locations. Our children are young, 6 and 3. Any thoughts about raising kids in Anchorage compared to Prescott? |

Wow that is two different worlds you might say, the girls will have experiences up here in Alaska that they won't experience in AZ. My kids 28 + 30 were both raised up here from birth both had an opportunity to leave and didn't, well for a short time my daughter moved to AZ after 5 years she came back.
Just a side note the sun is better on your skin up here, I have two sisters both from the lower 48's they both look at least 10 years older than me, but they only 1 and 2 years older. It would be a hard choice to make thou I've been to Prescott and really liked it there, another thing to consider is the income tax their's are pretty high we don't have any.
