Default Might Be Moving To Anchorage

I will be finding out in a couple hours if we are moving to Anchorage. We are very excited about the wonderful adventure. We have two girls one is 10 and the other will be 5 when we get there.I need to know what area to move to.I do not want to live in the getto. We moved to SC from MI. We had no idea what kind of neighborhood we moved into.EEEKKK.We heard and keep hearing that we live in the best neighborhood around here.Yet in the time we have lived here (less then a yr.) we have had several thing thrown(mainly beer cans and bottles) at our house and truck. This happens at least once a month. We had the back window shot out of our truck with a bb gun. When we had the police come to make a report he laughed and said they could not do any thing bout it then tried to bs us into going to his friend to get it fixed for cheep (a couple thousand dollars). We called the insurance and found out that all insurance companys in SC cover windows at NO cost to you.The public schools are better in Detroit!! Teachers here tell kids to hit/be mean back to teach the other kids a lesson.Needless to say I do not want to move to another place like this. Please help.

I'd consider the Kenai Peninsula, south of Anchorage.

The southside of Anchorage is safest overall, but there are quiet family neighborhoods scattered throughout the city. Stay away from anything that says Spenard, Fairview, Russian Jack, or Mountain View.

Are you military?
