Default Summer move to Anchorage

I lived in Nashville my whole life and I can't help thinking that maybe I was born in the wrong city. This is my last summer before I graduate college and I would really like to be able to move to Anchorage and work for the summer. What are some of the best areas to seek employment? Is the cost of living expensive? I would love to get any feedback/encouragement regarding this idea.

Anchorage is a great place to start. What is your major, and what work experience do you have?
Cost of living is fairly high. Milk is $3-4 a gallon. This is an area with a high demand for land and not a lot left.

I'm an accounting major with minors in Information Systems and Spanish. I've been doing some basic accounting work for about six months now and will continue that until May. I'm not necessarily looking for an accounting job, though I am not entirely opposed too it, but just something that will get me by and allow me to enjoy Alaska.

Plenty of accounting jobs here in Anchorage. Ask around, visit Daily News at adn.com.

I'm doing the same thing! Graduting in May from Univ. of Tennessee then moving to Anchorage with a bunch of my friends. I will have a bachelors in geography and will be getting ready to go to grad school for climatology. I don't necessarily need a job that relates to my major for the summer, but it'd be nice.
