Default Short term rentals in Anchorage

Hello there,

I'll be living in Anchorage May-August this summer. I know there are countless posts on this board about "I'm moving to AK this summer" so sorry for making another one. I have a couple options for housing. I know there are plenty of apartment complexes. I've emailed a couple of them and they all say to start applying right now. I've decided that a furnished apartment isn't really necessary though so I'd rather not live in a complex (though I'm not against it).

Ok now to the point..

Am I likely to be able to find a rental home or apartment through classifieds (craigslist, newspapers, etc.) a month or so prior to May, that will agree to rent for 3-4 months? Price isn't a huge issue since a couple of us will be sharing bedrooms. I've been looking on craigslist lately and there are countless apartments listed each day for rent. This is why I'm assuming we'll be able to find something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind the population increases starting in spring. So yes...you may want to start applying for a place now.

The availability of places to live in Anchorage dries up in mid-May. I had to move out of a place by June 1st, and left it a little late because of job travel. What a bear of a job finding a new place!
