Default My Car
I'm planning on moving to Anchorage this summer and I am wondering if my car will be able to hack it up there in the cold. I drive a 2004 Ford Focus ZX3(hatchback). It's really not in my best interest to try to get something different, so I'm really hoping that I can survive Alaska in that. Tell me what you think, thanks. -Ben

Yes it will. I drove a focus rental for one whole winter while restoring my pick-up. They do just fine.

If you're moving to the banana belt, it'll be fine. In the interior, I'd get a winterization package. Includes a block heater, a battery heater, and for that special (spoiled) woman in your life, a remote start unit. The last is really unnecessary, but women like it.

Your right mal flisk...I keep assuming all vehicles have a block heater on them! Heck, when I lived in Arkansas I drove a 1951 Chev and I had one on there. I don't think I've ever owned a vehicle without one. I bought a new Mustang in 1990 in Soldotna...and it already had one installed. I just need to get out more I guess.
