Default Wildwood Estates and the UAA area in Anchorage

Anyone know anything about this apartment complex? I'm thinking about moving into it. If you don't know anything about the compex, do you know anything about the area that it is in? It is located at 5600 Lake Otis Parkway. It looks like it is about a mile south of UAA and 2-3 miles due east of the airport. Here is a map that indicates exactly where it is..

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.113382&om=1

(You can just copy and paste the above into your address bar without the [url] parts

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

We just looked at them in the begining of JAnurary. They seemed pretty nice big kitchens. Compared to down south the bedrooms are tiny. Every apartment we looked at the bedrooms were small. They were nice and in middle of a remodel. I believe he said they would be done in the spring. We looked at a 2bdrm/2bath

CL99,

Thanks for the response. That's exactly what I'd be getting (2BR/2BA). I looked at the floorplan and saw that the bedrooms are pretty small. How did the grounds look? Is it in a pretty nice neighborhood?

Default Alaskan says Hi

UAA is located several miles from 56th and Lake Otis. Complex is rather new and is part of the newer 'sprawling' part of Anchorage. This area is a direct shot to UAA and onto Providence Blvd where most of the complex (UAA) is located at 36th and Lake Otis. Enjoy your transformation to 'sourdough'.

And what do you mean by "Enjoy your transformation to 'sourdough'." I'm not familiar with the term.

Probably from cheechako to sourdough. Cheechako's haven't spent a winter in Alaska. Kind of a tenderfoot. Sourdough is an old Alaska hand.

It seemed pretty clean. A few of the buildings were still not painted, but they have to wait till winter ends to finish painting the rest. The buildings that were painted were very nice. The area was pretty good. My husband and I would live there and I am pretty picky. Of coarse they were on of the only places that would take my 2 dogs also. Oh and the people were pretty nice waved at us.
