Did Alaska succeed from the union and I didn't hear about it?

Well let me explain were the question came from.Someone told me that when your flying to to Alaska you don't need a passport,unless from another country other than the U.S,then he proceed's to say that when you drive there and take the ferry you have to show your passport...Sorry if this sound's like a stupid question

If your a US citizen then you won't need a passport till June 2009 to travel through Canada into Alaska. But if your not a US citizen then you do need your passport to enter Canada to get to Alaska by ferry.

If you take the ferry from Bellingham, WA all the way up to Whittier, AK you do not need a passport. But like aurorawatcher said, starting soon you will need one to go through Canada. I would say get one anyway, it just helps things out.

We are a different country, better bring your passport from the states to get in.

The problem is they know it's up north...we need to keep telling them it's a small island off the coast of Texas, just like it shows on the news.
