Here in Montana normal price per pound is 8.99

We figured it would be cheaper over there where salmon is more abundant and fresher.
All depends on what kind of salmon. For example, at Fred Meyers in Fairbanks, Coho wild salmon fillets go from $5.00 to $7.99 during the winter months. King is a lot more expensive, however.

I just catch my own Copper River salmon about 320 miles away from this area, and buy only cod, tilapia, red snapper. Sometimes I buy halibut at the store. Halibut goes for around $16.00 a pound during the winter months.

Not holy mackeral...holy halibut...I prefer the smaller chickens though, this one has been around a while (actually man-guy's brother caught and let him hold it), but best picture of boat I have on photobucket right now

That's exactly what I'm hoping to catch!! Folks around here say they don't taste any difference between large and small halibut.

What kind of vacuum packing machine do you use? I used to have one but it was worthless and I gave it to the Salvation Army.
