Black Hair
Is there a salon/beauty shop for African American women in Anchorage? Coming from Houston, where you can find one on almost every corner, I am a bit concerned about Anchorage..

Hello there - Yes I have seen hair salons around town that advertise that specialty. I can't think of the name right now, but I remember seeing one as I was driving down a large main street (Gambell Street). That being said, I would imagine there are many others that aren't on main roads.
No need to be concerned!

Not sure as don't go to Anchorage...just bring hair products with...will be good until you find one....yes specialty shops...good luck,but there should be something as Alaska is diversied we think.....I have naturally curly hair so close, but not quite...but...I just wack my own....

Hey, any luck? I'm looking for someone to do our daughters hair. Micro braids etc. but with natural hair. Also Do you have Sally beauty supply stores up there. If not I'll bring alot of the supplies I need for her with us along with hair. I can alwys get relatives to ship stuff to me. Thanks

I did see someone on craigslist advertise doing hair. You may want to check there. I looked it up not too long ago just in case I couldn't find a beauty shop. Urban people tend to say beauty shop as opposed to salon. lol. |

There are plenty of African American women in Anchorage. I don't think you'll have any trouble finding a salon that caters to your needs in Anchorage.
