Kenai river has the best salmon sushi around anchorage, I guarantee it. Fish is fresh, still twitching most of the time.

Pataya Sushi in the Meta Rose Square...Wasilla.
The people who own it are the sole chefs...they buy locally...everything is always totally fresh and perfectly prepared.
Believe me...it took a LOT to even get me into a place with sushi as part of its name. I do the Thai...but I've been with people who are crazy for sushi...and once they've eaten at Pataya...they never seem to want to go anywhere else.
They are closed on Sundays though.

Yup, walk into the clock tower and stay to the right.
After you eat...you could go across the way (about 12 steps) to the used bookstore. From what I've seen...it is the best organized and the cheapest...but I know I prob. haven't seen all the stores yet.
Remember...they are closed on Sundays.
Also, they have redone the Teeland place...it is now Crazy Moose Subs. It is nice...individually owned and run...
Bet you can't wait to be here.
Myself, I'm getting antsy for winter...had enough sun...enough heat to last till next year. Hoping for a WINTER this year...but that's just me and my people.

Obviously "best" is a relative term when it comes to sushi here in Anchorage. Even the best of the best up here would be considered mediocre down south. That being said, I find that the new place, "Sushi & Sushi" behind Moose's Tooth (across from the DMV satellite) and the "Sushi Garden" down south on Huffman are the ones we frequent the most. However, I also hear that "Dami" on Gambell and 5th is supposed to be pretty good as well.

Not true. The best places down in the lower 48 are few & far between.

Dami sushi is very good. Fresh as well. Going at "dinner" time, you need to relax as they are a bit slow, but food is worth the wait, Try their Calvin Roll, Good kuck
