Sorry if this question is a duplicate. I don't think so because I tried everything I could think of in the search.

I was wondering if anyone could help recommend a company in Anchorage. I'm a new homeowner and I really don't know much about fixing up houses or the terms and whatnot. I am also not good at home DIY's as I never had a chance to work on anything yet. Could someone recommend a company they've used for remodeling their home that has resonable prices? I don't know many people that have remodeled their home so I'm trying to gather information where I can.

I am looking to apply hardwood flooring everywhere (living room, kitchen, stairs, 3 bedrooms) and vinyl flooring in our 2.5 bathrooms. Another thing is that I want to remodel the half bathroom (which is quite small). For the bathrooms I basically picked out vantities I could just easily buy. I don't want anything fancy remodeling but actually..I just need someone to install everything. Does anyone know if Lowe's does a good job of installing flooring and remodeling? (I guess I could just say installation if it would be cheaper to buy things myself and have someone install everything)

I would love to remodel our kitchen but just choosing different cabniets would be cheaper and nice. Anyone have any recommendations on changing cabniets? Could I just do it myself with small help?

I don't have much information right now but the home is 1526 sq ft: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. I'm getting mesaurments tomorrow of each room. I would like to use a company that is able to work quickly. Well, I'm sure it would be no problem as there is no furniture in the house right now.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you !!!

The answer is, for someone like you, short of hiring someone well recomended and local, Lowe's subcontractor would be the best bet. They might not be the cheapest, but they are "certified", insured and quick. Just make sure Lowes has all the flooring you choose IN STOCK. Friends of mine bought laminate flooring from them for their entire house, and the store had to get some of it from other locations to fill the order. Well, half way thru the job they discovered that the color lots were not the same. Oh boy!
