where did he state he was waiting for "HIS" PFD check...?? yes I did say to not sponge off Grandma because of this. If he had applied for "his" check he would have had it mailed to him in Atlanta, not Grandma's house in AK.
"look at his picture in his profile! "WTH (yes what the heck) and just look at how most of you interpreted this statement....negative!!
he is extremely smartly dressed, clean cut, upscale class look with the man shoulder bag....

Your "look at his profile, wth" actually comes across as you said it...in a derogatory manner which it appears others took it that way as well as the OP.
He more then likely is entitled to receive the PFD check since it's for the year 2008 and he stated he graduated in 08. His post could be taken another way that his check is being mailed to grandma's house and he is waiting on her to send it; you as well as anyone else don't know where or why he had his check mailed to the grandma's house so that's an assumption that he would have had it mailed to Atlanta.
You can blame others stating your words were taken in a negative manner all you want. Your post came across somewhat nasty about this kid whether you want to admit it or not. Thus the OP's and a few others responses back to you.
BTW the kid probably wondered wth you care for since you don't live in Alaska as he said was born/raised in AK.

Pat has a good point. It was for the year 2008; he would have still been in high school and probably a minor. If so, he's entitled.

You don't want to endanger your ability to ever receive dividends again in the future should you someday decide to move back to Alaska (I know you say you never will, but you are still young and life has a way of changing even the best of plans...trust me).

Moose Whisperer what 'admission' did I make? I meet the PFD qualifications because I was APPROVED! And being away for college is an allowable absence. I could be gone from the state of Alaska all year if I wanted to as long as I am still enrolled in school and working during the summer.
Why would you even join in on this forum and try to discuss something you have no knowledge of? How foolish of you.
You should go to the PFD website and educate yourself about the PFD before you go posting on someone's forum and delivering false and incorrect information.
EDIT: I went back and read some of your other posts Moose Whisperer, you had some correct information, but as I stated, I can be gone for the entire calendar year if I wanted to and still receive a PFD check as long as if I am in college 9 months out of the year and I work the 3 months in the summer.

AlaskaPat528 has it right!

But it is my grandma's P.O. Box actually and I am waiting for her to deposit it into my bank account.

You have to remember that the application was filled out last winter, so at that time, his intent could have been to remain in Alaska. Just because he stated the above now, doesn't mean he is disqualified from receiving the PFD. In fact, it's perfectly legal for him to change his mind again state he plans to return to Alaska and receive the 2010 PFD.
I've had my kids state that they have no plans to remain in Alaska while they were going to college. Guess what? They always returned. Two subsequently left and they no longer receive a PFD. Our youngest, who just entered college has stated the same thing, but he will be returning here each year until he graduates. If he goes medical, he may even be going to school in Anchorage for a year.
So what it comes down to is that kids really don't know what they are going to do in the future. Maurice obviously has ties here and is planning to return this winter. If he's here in 2010, he'll likely qualify again, assuming he's still in school. As fas as we know, he may end up returning after he graduates.
