I did have my fist scare with a moose when I was leaving work tonight. I didn't see it in the tree line. I had to stop at the stop sign and it just looked at me. It wasn't real close, but close enough!

I live in Topeka, but grew up in the country outside Herington.. so you know what that means.. Salina's where I had to go if I wanted something that you couldn't get from Ben Franklins.. lol.. Scary stuff with the moose...glad it turned out well! I figure I have made it 30 yrs without hitting a dear (I think my brothers count is up near 22, yeah.. he replaces his bumper a lot..) so my luck I will get one when I get there..

Guess what!!!! (Don't mean to steal your thread roadfamily, just lazy and don't want to dig for mine right now...) I talked to my friend last night.. had to stay up late (10:00pm..ok not late but it was my only night off this week so I wanted to go to bed....) and called her to discuss my December trip, she is looking into my plain ticket this week!!! So now I can start my planning.. I could barley sleep last night.. I should know by next week what exact days I will be up there!

oh very exciting! Good luck!

I have seen the fields of grain waving. It is very serene. Where I grew up in Montana, they grow Wheat. Ever heard of Wheat Montana ~ Home products? That is by my home town.

TL551 is on a distinguished road
bajadrmin - interesting! I remember when they had the passenger train that stopped in Herrington! When I worked at the Sheriff's department in Salina, there was a lawyer that lived down there and commuted a few days a week to take care of clients there. I can't remember his name though which doesn't bother me. He was kind of a jerk! I left Salina in 1992 to move to Colorado.
