well, later this month i am planning on moving to the Westchester Lagoon area in Alaska. I have never lived in Alaska before.

It is the older part of town, but a good area. Are you going to be on the East or West side of Minnesota Drive? The West side is a bit nicer, but both are very livable.

I have lived on dimond for 22 years. I grew up here. I would definitely look around souther anchorage. There is crime everywhere, but I try to steer away from spenard and fairview, as well as mountain view.
