Oh alrighty wow, so UAA is kinda more towards a community college then? I didn't really expect that since it's located in the biggest city. Would Fairbanks be the best bet for the University, or is the one in Juneau exceptionally well too? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get the best possible picture in mind.

Fairbanks is more like a typical university. UAS, and UAA lean more towards a vocational school or community college.

Definetely Fairbanks if you want a "university feel," though I think the actual number of students is about the same at UAA and UAF (what is it 12-15,000 or something?). You should probably mention what you're majoring in or the direction you're heading. As a generalization, I think you'd do fine at UAA for liberal arts type degrees, but "hard science" type stuff you'll definetely want to go to UAF. Both schools have lots of organized recreational opportunities. The mountains are closer in Anchorage, but just about everybody in Fairbanks is into some sort of outdoor activity.

Oh and if you do move to Fairbanks, -20 in winter will no longer be "brutal."

Alrighty yeah that's a good thing to hear haha, cause someone around here said that the Fairbanks campus is actually really small. Definitely listening to someone whose experienced it.
Sorry, I completely forgot to mention that. But I'm currently majoring in History, love everything about it and since you mentioned I'll be fine for LA degrees, might as well stick with that. There's probably a vast amount of things to do in Alaska, hence why I really want to go there ha.
How do the schools support their athletic teams?

The winters are tough, but totally worth it.

Where's the nearest ski resort from either Fairbanks or Anchorage?

Aleyska in Girdwood is about 30 miles south of Anchorage. I don't ski so that is the only one I know about.

I think there are some small-scale skiing areas at a park or two in Anchorage but I don't ski either.
