Post wanting to relocate to anchorage

I have spent the last two summers in anchorage. I am disappointed that I will not be able to come this summer, but I hope to be able to spend a couple of weeks there before the end of the year. I have been researching since the first time I was there. I read everything about Alaska that I can get my hands on. My girlfriend is oringinally from Anchorage. She is what brought me to Alaska. She has lots of family still there. I fell in love with Alaska and her family. Having spent my entire life in Alabama, I was very impressed with pay scale and the variety of jobs there. Mostly I was impressed with the entire atmosphere in Anchorage. That including the wildlife, hiking, and the people. I would like to be able to spend a couple of years there, and see where life leads. I know I would like to relocate to Anchorage so we could be close to my girlfriends family. I would like to get a lead on a job, place to stay, and way to get around before we make the move. I have had mostly manual labor jobs. I worked in factories, waitressed, worked in a call center(which I hated), and have had various contruction laborer jobs. I would like to work in construction. I have spent my summers in high school working in my fathers cabinet shop. I live on a farm with horses, ducks, geese, pigs, goats, and chickens. I like working outside and any information would be much appreciated.
