Question Best way to find roommates?

Hey Ann Arbor Forum,

I am currently a new homeowner and student at EMU. I am trying to find renters for the house I just recently purchased. The issue I'm having, is finding renters that fit a similar mindset as mine. I think my issue is that I live to close to Ypsi and have my rooms listed pretty low so I tend to keep getting 'unattractive' responses.

Because I'm a student at emu, I am trying to find people that don't mind living in a communal living environment that are either young professionals or grad students with worldly experiences.

Can anyone suggestions a way to find decent renters because as of right now I am having little to no luck...

Here is some info on the house, myself and living environment.
- The home is a five bedroom house that is in a quite neighborhood off of Packard between Hewit and Golfside. I am currently renting 3 bedrooms out at $350 a piece that are about 10x10 with large closets. There is a fourth bedroom for $400 that is much larger on the second floor with a much larger closet. Rent includes all utilities and internet. There are two bathrooms, a huge basement that is unfinished and can be used for storage, and washer / dryer are on site and free to use. There is an awesome house cat, named Bemis Jack, he is a big ball of loveable fluff and gets along well with other animals.
-Myself, I am a new student in the computer science program at EMU. I'm pretty shy and professional at first but changes once I get to know someone. Once I know someone I have a very warm and inviting persona and I usually keep things lite by cracking jokes.

I guess the long and short of everything, I'm trying to make a warm inviting atmosphere that is conclusive to learning.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Post ads at the university student union? Your LOW cost may also be scaring real renters away?

Actually I will be relocating to AA from Seattle in May. I got a job at the univ of michigan and I just started looking for housing in AA. I've read some reviews on Apartment communities in AA, and OMG, looks like it's not going to be that easy to find a nice place.

Based on the reviews I've read the walls and the ceilings in the apartment buildings are extremely thin, timers on lights are set to bad times, not secure, tons of drugs around etc

I really hope I just got unlucky with the places I found. I'm just saying it's a 2 way street, it's both hard to find good roommates and a place to move in...
