Empty Unfinished House on 23 south of Ann Arbor
Anyone know the story behind that McMansion about 20 miles south of Ann Arbor on the east side of 23? It's been empty and falling apart as long as I can remember.
On a side note, who would build a McMansion with a highway in your back yard and big smokestacks in your front? Maybe that's why they stopped building it

Know it well, would love to know the story behind it.
I suspect it was started on that parcel because the land was very cheap and commute to AA / Toledo / even Detroit was easy.

I made the commute from Lambertville to AA for years and often wondered what the story was behind that house and why someone never put a match to it.

My husband and I ask that same question every time we pass it. It started out pretty ambitiously, and then work suddenly stopped. All the cash put into it is worthless now, too much damage over the years. Sad sign of the times, though it happened well before the housing bubble burst.

This is a stalled housing development .A couple was trying to make their dream home, but the wife backed out of the driveway and got hit by a car after taking a look at how everything was going. The husband just stopped the building, and moved.They where former Federal employees looking to leave Dc to make Michigan their new home.
As soon as I find the news article confirming the story I will post an update.
