I have the chance to move to either central Mesa or central Tucson. I a single male in my 30's with no kids. Which would be a better place to live ? All opinions welcome.

I assume you have job opportunities in central Mesa or Tucson. Just because your job is in central Mesa, you don't have to live there. I'd live in Tempe and commute, even using the light rail if that works for you. Tucson has some nice qualities, but it's a smaller metro area than Phoenix/Mesa etc., with a different feel. As a single person, I'd pick the larger area. But it depends on what you are looking for.

Apples and Oranges, Pageminer.

Mesa is part of the huge Phoenix Metropolitan Area with lots of people, traffic and freeways while Tucson is basically a CowTown with NO freeways and fewer people with much less to do overall.

Also, Tucson has a better climate overall plus a lower cost of living.

Personally, I would never consider living in Mesa over Tucson as I'm not turned on with big cities yet Phoenix is close enough if I need to experience some of the extras.

Very true. I'd pick Mesa over Tucson (although, in reality, you don't have to live in either city). But that's just my preference. I find it interesting that folks in Tucson don't care for the Phoenix area and folks in the Phoenix area don't care for Tucson. (That, of course, is speaking in "general" terms....).

Tucson, no contest. Way prettier, better culture, closer to beautiful nature, good vibe. Mesa's rundown, conservative mormon run city council legislating against nightlife, generally crappy place to be alive.
