Seems awfully close to the Navajo Rez. How much public land is available for sale there? Good water?

It is close to the rez. Water is either by well or holding tank. They are suppose to be building a few casinos around the area & on the rez in the near future if not already building on them.

Get a job with DPS. Request Houck as a duty station.
They'll even pay you extra to live there in state housing, unless Janet did away with remote duty pay. She may have even done away with the assignment but if so, there's always Holbrook! Or Kayenta...

You sound like a nurse who is contemplating an assignment there. I was too. Just found out housing will be at Ft. Defiance or not at all. I'm not comfortable with that so decided against the assignment. I just don't want to drive an hour to Gallup for groceries and other supplies. Don't want to be in substandard housing, either.
