Default Arizona is second poorest state in the nation

Ouch, that has got to hurt.

"More than 1 out of 5 Arizonans live in poverty, a figure higher than anywhere else in the nation except for Mississippi."

first impression is that they must have taken into account all of the natives on the reservations. 0 divided by any number is still 0, and all that.

I think Obama should come to Arizona, and fix this situation.

Well this article doesn't even mention Arizona on the top 10 poorest state list. Both articles seems to be citing the US Census Bureau's updated figures.

No surprise here.

AZ has long been referred to as Mississippi of the southwest. Lots of trashy-type people seek the state for its laid-back ways. That has a way of creating laziness and the unwillingness for people to work harder and pull themselves out of poverty.

Too many Arizonans are stuck here. They can't sell or move if they want to because of the plummeted home values and a better life elsewhere is ususally more expensive.

There are no worthwhile jobs here anymore to speak of and no motivation to improve the quality of life. This place will be a backwater for the foreseeable future I'm afraid.

Very disturbing, Bungle . . . how is this even possible?

Obviously, the media is "juggling" or distorting the figures to promote an agenda.
