Boompa - While it is likely true that the Bush family made much money from it's business dealings with NAZI Germany, they are NOT - as I already mentioned - ALONE in that. Even TODAY US business is dealing with countries all around the world that have done or are doing pretty nasty things to their citizens- and this has been with the approval of the US government. Often this is because the business dealing provide the country with something it needs - and in fact we couldn't really survive without some of these dealings for the simple reason that some of the resources that are critical to US industry (including our own DEFENSE) ONLY reside in some of these rather nasty nations.

Today for example there is the obvious case of our close business dealings with the Saudis (in spite of the repression of woman (and ANY religion besides their own) and the financial support many of their wealthiest citizens provide to terrorists. But we also have VAST business dealings with China (which of course has a POOR human rights record) and have long had dealings with South Africa for their Chromium (critical for the manufacture of jet engines etc) & other strategic materials EVEN WHEN that country was in the midst of apartheid.

The fact is, business goes on with nasty countries ALL THE TIME (even today) - and it's really unrealistic to expect that it won't.

I might add a question, why wouldn't other countries be interested in an immigration law? If the feds developed this law for America, other countries would be weighing in and since Jan has declared Arizona as a state that will now take on actions of a country then she should expect to have to go through the same channels the president of our country would to enact these kinds of federal laws.

She asked for the responsibility, and now she's going to cry about it?

If you are going to start trying to act like the president of Arizona instead of the governor then you are going to have to deal with other countries. Maybe she should suit up for her talks with the U.N.

Fox News, CNN, MSMBC, make so much money on people and are not educating you in the least, go to the history or science channel instead, BBC maybe, learn something, I mean, really learn something about this crap before you decide how you feel about it.

Agree with you 100% regarding BBC News being 100% superior to CNN, MSNBC, FOX News etc. The fact is the American "24 Hours" news networks really only present a small amount of "top news stories" - which they tend to repeat every half hour over and over again (with each story being only 1 or 2 minutes long at most (How "in depth" can you get in 2 minutes? Not Much)). Roughly 1/3 of their air time just commercials and (aside from that same half hour of "top stories" repeated over and over and over again) the remainder of their time is just "Opinion" shows with little to no news value whatsoever.

As I said in my previous posts the elder Bush WAS involved - but so were lots of other American companies (and there was no legal reason why they shouldn't since at that stage we were not at war with Germany & it was just another country run by a dictator). Besides the ones mentioned in the article there were MANY others. Ford & GM between them owned roughly 1/3rd of German auto production capability through their German subsideraries. Also heavily involved with German business at the time were IBM, Alcoa, Du Pont and Standard Oil.

The fact is, if American businesses simply refused to do business in countries that are run by dictators & other "less than full democratic governments" our trading partner list would be pretty darned small. This is somewhat true today - but it's ESPECIALLY true back in the time in question when real Democracy was pretty darned rare.

Personally I don't think that the senior Bush was very nice guy - but (as I've ready said) neither was the senior Kennedy (and again, that really has NOTHING to do with the current crop of either family).

We have a set of rules that go with becoming a citizen of this country. We don't need criminals as citizens.
Very well put! I hope Jan Brewer and her team can just ignore these Boycotts as Arizona is dealing with a huge mess and they really had no other choice. And since when is just asking during a traffic stop, etc. if someone is a legal citizen so horrific? If they're here legally it should be no big deal to prove it and if I were asked I wouldn't take it personally and be happy to prove it.

They show up at these rallies of their own free will. They can't be asked to leave unless they do something unlawful. Just because they are attending doesn't mean that the majority of the people who showed up or organized the event want them there. Just because JT is showing his support for a Republican in Arizona doesn't mean that the Candidate wants to be associated with him or his group.

Nobody else is safe.

And no, I do not feel safe going out at night and before all this started, we didn't even bother to lock our doors when we left home. Fox doesn't cover local news. And please tell me what watching any TV station has to do with feeling safe or not feeling safe except that I see on the news about who was killed or robbed and sometimes it gets too close for comfort when an elderly couple is robbed just going out to their car to bring in things from a trip.

You are an incredibly rude poster to be happy that the federal government is not doing its job. That makes me wonder if maybe you are part of the problem that we are having. Otherwise you would want Americans to be safe.
Good Lord.

Please, please pull yourself together. You appear totally frazzled by what you hear on the news.
