I usually speed past at 165 and have not had a ticket yet. Then again it is hard for the cops to catch me when I am in the air. LOL

With gas as expensive as it is, I have slowed down to 65 or 70 because your mileage goes down doing 75-80. It also makes me less nervous about being ticketed.

The last time I drove to L.A on the I-10 there were multiple cars going about 90-100 in the left lane at times, but typically most drivers go 75-85 and keep and eye out for cops. I have a radar detector and it works 90% of the time with a 1/2 mile heads up to slow down.

Back when I was 17 and was an idiot driver, I used to go 100+ on the I-10 and get to LA in about 4 hours from Phoenix. I used to drive to LA

For Phoenix to Vegas, there are A LOT more cops on the way so people typically stay around 75. Plus through wickenburg there are a ton of cops.

Once into CA where it drops to 65 and towns are more frequent things slowed down a bit.
after you cross the border into Blythe, westbound 10, the speed limit is 70 for quite a bit.

The area between PHX and Tucson contains about 4 different areas. There is no "one" favorite place.
