Default Moving to North Scottsdale, Apartment Suggestions?

Hi guys, I'm thinking about moving to North Scottsdale from the west side and I was wondering if anyone had anything good (or bad) to say about any apartment complexes in North Scottsdale. The following apartment complexes are my favorites so far (the ones I'm most considering), so while you can comment on any apartment complex, I'm especially looking for anyone who knows anything about these:

1. Alexan at Frank Lloyd Wright
2. Paragon at Kierland
3. Vintage
4. Desert Club

Thanks so much!

John

I just got back Friday from apartment hunting in Scottsdale. I am relocating from Ohio. I hope Desert Club is nice--->because that is where I am moving in September lol! I was looking in what I think is the general area you are describing. It was close to my sister (off Greenway by Kierland) and easy commute to work (straight down Scottsdale).

In my research, I heard a lot of good things about Alexan but had already made my decision on Desert Club before I could visit Alexan. I did not consider Paragon--->main reason being that close to Kierland could prove to be exceptionally distracting and expensive for me lol!

I liked Desert Parks Vista up by DC Ranch. But at least my impression is the community residents seemed to be a little older than the demographic I was looking for (I am early 40's). I also liked Shade by Desert Ridge-tho the architecture was a bit too modern for me and it reminded me of New York alleys painted in pretty colors-but it is brand new, right across from Desert Ridge on Tatum-->drawback: lots of traffic and lights and stuff. And I liked Dakota at McDowell Mt Ranch, but the community is huge (over 700 units they told me) and must be directly in the flight path from the airport because just while I was there heard a lot of flight traffic.

I was not impressed with Glen Eagles or Pillar Scottsdale or Pillar Desert View-not that they were "bad" or that there was anything wrong with them, but they just werent what I was looking for.

What are you looking for in a community? Age group? Amenities? Like a business center or clubhouse? Something quieter or more "urban"? Do you have children?

Your mileage may differ of course. I will watch this post for responses from the locals just in case I decide to leave Desert Ridge when my lease is up in a year.
