Well I have news for you all, I just finished off a 960 mile road trip and went over to Holbrook down to St Johns into Springerville, Alpine, Hannigan Meadows, Morenci, Clifton down to Duncan up to York and over to Safford into Globe up to Payson into Flagstaff and home to Kingman.
Go explore Arizona back country towns and it will make you appreciate what Kingman has to offer.

Fantastic. I really want to do that loop, especially that stretch of 191 with the curves.

Were you on a motorcycle, per chance? Take any pictures?

Oh no had the Toyota Tundra 4x4 with 2 dogs and the wife. Wished I had a motorcycle took like 5 hours from Holbrook to Clifton.
So yes anyone out there want a pretty fall color drive do the loop and check out the Aspens. The wildlife were out and about we saw Javelina and deer this trip.

Lightbulb kdog, rambrush, and ArizonaBear

you guys seem to know the area pretty good. Which part of town do you advise to live in, or about? I live up in Lacey, WA; i am planning on making the move. Just tired of the rain. I am hunting for a job in the Construction Engineering field. I have a school age child (4th grade), and the wife…. She is native to the PNW and she is tired of the rain too. I had some job offers in phoenix, but they were just too low to make the move (25-30%) less than what I am making now… (asking for a Cadillac for the price of a Hyundai).

I am going down there to look things over, just do not know at what part of Kingman I should be looking.
Can you guys point me to the right direction?

With your four-grader, I'd recommend buying into the Hualapai school district. That's the best elementary school. It's either that, or enrolling your kid into the Kingman Academy; however they have a long waiting list. I also think the Hualapai area is the nicer part of town. East of Andy Devine (Rt66), and south of I40. The neighborhoods off of Louise Ave and Southern Ave, are good, and get better as you drive further east.

Just curious, but did you actually line up work that pays better in Kingman than the same work in Phoenix? That would be a coup. The cost of living is a lot less in Kingman, and the pace of life is much slower too (that's a good thing in my book.)

PM me if you need a realtor recommendation.

Have lived in Kingman for 4 whole days now. We do have a Harley and I would love to know what the loop is and where to find the Aspens. I saw the Aspen trees once many years ago on a trip and would love to see them again. Is this a long day or an overnight trip? Thanks for the help.

Right on! Four days and you like it already. That's great, and I'm sure it'll only get better for you.

We spent the last 2 winters in nothern Missouri so we are loving the weather here. Last year we had frozen water pipes for 3 weeks. Had all the snow and ice I want. A winter in AZ is perfect.
