Re: Katie45's comments; I would rather live in Kingman, at least downtown vs. most of Hawaii------and, I have never visited that state.
I have heard little but horror stories about Honolulu

Oh, but Monterey is so nice -- if you like 300 days/year of coastal fog and 50 to 60 degree temperatures. Sunshine for me, please.

I hate Kingman too. I have a daughter too. The daycares are mostly nasty. The weather sux. The people loud and rude. I guess if you are a redneck or Morman it is OK. I hate the wind I can't breathe and I hate the dust and dirt. I hate the stupid people who can't put together two sentences, hate waiting in line for 40 minutes if 5 people are ahead of me because everyone has to talk
like its old home week. If you feel education is a priority, then forget the public schools. The realtors are all on the back porch drinking lemonade. Nothing is selling becasue they dont do a thing
to advertise or beat the bushes, If you like a real laid back lifestyle with nothing to do but knit bake eat ride horses its OK I guess. I am nearly 60 and I am too old for this. half of the things are broken in Kingman....no once seems to care...if you have ever lived in a place where there is customer service, beyond some dumb clerk pointing off to the horizen itw over there, do not come to Kingman. I want to sell my ranch. Its really a good price and a nice homestead with instant equity of 50K. I just want to get out with somthing to get my children a decent education before I die.
it is blazing hot in the summer and gets to 22 in the winter, the food is overpriced and horrible quality, the wind and allergens are all over. The town is dirty and everyone gets sooooo sick all winter long. There is a little college, a little Hospital, but if you are really sick you have to find specialist somewhere else and go to Pheonix or LV. Most people here shop out of town or on the internet.
You can find no clothes for the awful winter, except maybe 40 parkas total for about 3 weeks, then they are all sold out. I am going nuts with boredom here. There are alot of churches, if you hook up with a good church you might have things to do. There are Mormans here, Lions, Masons, Babtists, and people do wear guns here. I have lived here a long time and I want out!!!!!!!!!
If you are overweight, don't worry about it, most of the clothes here are for overweight people. If you don't have clothes, don't worry about it, everyone wears t shirts and jeans.
There is alot of Meth here as well. The Latins are coming in the droves. But if you like a little50K population town, that is antigrowth, and you are a homebody I guess it is OK.

Kingman
When the real estate market goes back up, current investors are going to clean up! You can pick up a new home for 140 and make a 100K when it goes back up.

I have never lived in LV so compared to LV maybe it is good, depending on what you are looking for or where you grew up.

It sounds like you like Kingman. You have a pool?? It is my understanding that there are only 3-4 homes with inground pools in Kingman.
I am glad you like it. I wish I could say the same. guess I haven't met the right people.

Honolulu is the tourist attraction town. I lived in Hawaii for nearly 2 years, long ago. It is beautiful. I never lived in Honolulu, that is just for the tourists. For me the sunsets, the waterfalls, the spirit that is in the air, is awesome.
