Want to know about Oracle
I'm thinking of moving to Oracle. I have family in Tucson, but I want a small artsy place where I can mingle with other artists. Anyone out there know about Oracle?
Thanks!

Hmmm, I wouldn't exactly call Oracle an "artsy" place. Not sure where you heard that?? It's a really small, rural town, a one road stop off the highway. We passed through there a year ago when I went to see Biosphere 2. We ate at a country-style Italian-American restaurant in Oracle-- forget what it's called. Other than a gas station/general store and a Ford trucks dealer, not sure what else is there. Cool name though.

Oracle . . . "artsy," Boldpainter?
Where did you hear that?
Are you sure you're not thinking of Tubac which is about 45 minutes due South of Tucson or Bisbee which is a couple of hours East and South?
Good Luck

Maybe "artsy" was the wrong word to use. The town is not full of galleries but it appears that many artists do live there and there are art events thru the year - according to their web site anyway. I just want a peaceful place to live and work on my art and be able to have conversation with other artists. I have been to Bisbee and Tubac and I know Oracle is nothing like that. If you ate at the Italian restaurant, you may have noticed paintings around - the owner is also an artist!

I have lived in Oracle since 1970. I owned a busness, here, for 23 years.
I can tell you that we have the Linda Vista Ranch which is made up of artists, like yourself. I believe they have rentals on the ranch. Just come to Oracke & anyone can tell you how to get to the ranch.
Good luck.
